  2. My favourite Disneyland Paris memory from 2012 was riding Pirates of the Caribbean for the first time! I grew up going to WDW and loving POTC but the Paris ride is a little bit different! 2 drops? Didn't know it, didn't expect it, it was awesome. POTC was so exciting that my boyfriend and I rode it 6 times over our 3 day trip! Such fun :)

  7. PART 1:

I got to say, this is one of the hardest questions you can ask me. Picking just one magical moment is very difficult cause 2012 was just a magical year, full of magical meets and loads of magical moments thanks to the cm's who keep making the magic. If you make me to choose just one moment then I would choose 12 april. Our day started very early, the sun was shining, the sky was blue and we knew this was going to be a disney kind-of-day. On a flemish radio station the question was: what is special about this day. I tweeted them saying it it the day that disneyland would become 20 years old. A few minutes later I got a phonecall and I could tell all about it live on the radio.

Afterwards we went to the park. Cause it was only 7:40 the securitycheck was still closed. At 8:00 the security finally opened, we went trough it, direction: Disneyland Park. Every CM said, no the magical hours are in the studios, but no we wanted to be at the gates. After waiting some longer we could proceed to the gates of the park. We were one off the first people there. After singing happy birthday at 9:01 we waited another hour to be one of the first to enter the park. We took our places and listened to the speech of Philip Gas, but after that it was time for an amazing flashmob. To bad we couldn't see a lot from it cause everybody had to stand on the left or right side from town square it was still magical. But the moment that really gave me goosebumps for the first time that day were 2 jet-planes flying over main street and drawing a 20 in the sky above the castle, nut when I saw the human arch from cm's all over main street I really teared up. There was really magic everywhere, I can't describe the energy that was in the air. But no time to go over main street trough the awesome human arch, we had a shopping list to do (something I slightly regret afterwards. Whilst Jolien went for the beautiful limited edition tshirts, I and Annelies went to search the limited edition pin. After 15 minutes of running and standing in line we gave up hope and we decided to go to Videopolis cause the creative brain behind Disneyland Paris, Tony Baxter, would give a masterclass. What an unique experience to hear one of the masterminds behind the park talking about the creation. After the masterclass the worldwide ambassador team came on stage and we could see a very cute video to congratulate disneyland. Second time tearing up that day.

Masterclass was over and we decided to take the run to get in time to fantasyland for fantasyland celebrates. Since these shows were unique and created to use just one day we had to see them all. We made it just in time to fantasyland but we forgot al the running when we saw the characters passing. It was the first time ever I saw the seven dwarfs all togheter, but even butter were Mickey and Minnie who were dressed as prince and princess. Third magical moment of the day. I'm not going to describe the show, you can find it on youtube.

  8. PART 2:

Since our places for this show weren't great we decided to wait 30min before each show. Up to adventureland for their party. The setting was looking very good and more and more people were showing up. Even the rain couldn't ruin the moment. Next to me there was a little girl and we started to talk, I discovered that she was a huge fan from stitch so I started to tell about our magical moment in cafe mickey the day before (but that's a story for another time). After chatting with the girl and imitating stitch the show started. And again I had goosebumps thanks to the beautiful live music, and don't forget the awesome suits for the characters and Mowgli! After the show there was a very good organised meet, people had to wait behind a rope, and they let people in for the meet, after the meet they let new people trough,... thanks to an awesome CM we could go very fast on the meeting set for some unique pictures. She had heard my stitch imitation and she had to let stitch trough. I played with the monkeys and I think the pictures said enough, monkeys are my family. :p

Wow ok, this story is starting to get long so to shorten the story let's fast forward trought the next moments. We went to frontierland for frontierland celebrates. Also here amazing suits and one of the very few chances to see the country bears all together. But time for my favorite show, we were already teased whilst watching the masterclass thanks to the load music, but we went to discoveryland to see their party and oh boy, a party it was. Great dance-mixes from classic disneysongs and I even recognised pieces from Showtime spectacular. That in combination with my favorite characters angel, stitch, chip, dale and clarice this show was defintly my favorite.

Ok, paradetime. Magic on parade was great, but also the preparade was something for the real fans. All the ambassadors rode the parade route, it was great to see them all together since it isn't a chance u get all days. Ok parade over, time for the last special event of the day, main street celebrates. Since I never saw the Marry Poppins show on town square I found it a very cute show. I loved the outfits and it was the first time ever I heard duffy talk, what a cute voice! ^^

Ok people, show is over. We went to the steak house for a VIP-dining cause today was a special day and we wanted to see dreams on VIP-places. So after a long meal we ran to our vip-places and we were just in time for dreams. It was the third time I saw the show and it still gave me the chills, but the waterfalls coming down from my eyes weren't there so it was the first time I could see the show clear, and what a show it is!

It was a really magical day and since then I do believe in magic and in dreams coming true more than ever!

  9. After a terrible year involving blackmailing builders ruining our hous e and lives we we're both very miserable, but then my wonderful husband James decided we needed a weekend away. He told me to book some days off work and that he'd sort out where we were going. He fooled me into thinking it was going to be one night away in a UK hotel and the rest of the time off at home. So imagine my surprise when he gave me an envelope and told me to open it saying this was where were going.
Disneyland Paris! We had three nights and 4 days there and it truly melted all our worries and cares away. It was.the first time we'd been and we loved it. Dreams was amazing, our dinner at Walts was the finest meal of the weekend and we embraced pin trading load speaking to cast members to see what pins they had. It was the most magical weekend ever and it made my spirits lift right back up. Best bit for me was meeting Minnie Mouse she was so lovely!

  10. My best Disneyland Paris memory 2012 would be the most amazing meet'n'greet with Duffy ever : It was a really rainy day at Disneyland Park and Duffy was doing meet'n'greets in the Liberty Arcade, 2 little kids with their parents were waiting to get their picture taken. But Duffy was a little bit tired always doing the same thing so when he saw me he started jumping and waving, I didn't know why but he ran to me and hugged me and I screamed DUFFY you are awesome! After about 5 minutes of hugging, dancing and giving high fives the ACC came to tell Duffy there were other people waiting to meet him. Duffy's reaction was turning the CM around putting him on a bench and singed him that he must be quiet. Duffy came back to me walked around the arcade with me, hugged me again and then just went backstage when his time was up :D

  15. We were there in the Summer and Christmas time in 2012 and both have their own memories. I have to say though that when the santa cavalcade first came in to view I got quite emotional. I love the atmosphere it creates and seeing all the faces around you light up both young and not so young. Then the snow came. Perfect!

  16. In 2012 we visited DLP two times. The first time was in July, around 14Juillet. We saw Dreams for the first time and that really was the highlight of this stay. 14 Juillet was a bit of a disaster due to the behavior of some very aggressive guests during the festive fireworks. It had been quite a terrible year for us and Disneyland usually was the best medicine, it didn't work so well this time. In November we returned to this happy place and stayed for nine days at the Sequoia Lodge. Really everything turned out as we expected, the magic was there everyday! What made it work were all the Cast Members we met along our daily journeys through this magic kingdom!

  19. My favourite Disneyland Paris moment was revisiting in the year of its 20th anniversary as I first went when I was just 1 and am now 21! It still makes me well up whenever I see the castle. Disney dreams was incredible & worth the 2hour wait to get a spot at the front for the best view! My favourite ride is a toss up between big thunder mountain & peter pans flight! However my mum assures me my favourite ride when I was 1 was its a small world! I still got butterflies queuing up for that last year!

  20. Thought I'd better enter the competition before I run out of time! As many people have said, one of my favourite memory from Disneyland Paris during 2012 was watching Disney Dreams for the very first time. It really is the most incredible show with the best special effects I've ever seen, Disneyland Paris really did outdo themselves with this one. However, I have to say my favourite memories from Disneyland Paris last year was getting the chance to actually have a look backstage at creating the magic during my week's work experience with the Disney Imagineers. As you would expect, I can't reveal too much of what I learnt, but I can tell you this: these people do have the best jobs in the world. They are the people who create these wonderful experiences and memories we all hold in our hearts and meeting & speaking to them was my favourite memory of 2012. Thank you very much for holding this fantastic competition, Josh!

  21. Thank you for Tweeting to me! I have never been to Disneyland Paris...YET. One day it is my dream to get over to Paris to experience what I studied in school for so many years. I still remember reading everything I could about DLP when it opened. Adore seeing your beautiful photos from another Disney park.
